Laura and Carlos are long time New Yorkers and frequent hosts to international
travelers. Laura,
a psychotherapist, born in New York, has lived here all her life. Carlos, an
electrical contractor, is originally from Argentina speaks Spanish and Hebrew
fluently. Their diverse interests include hiking, gardening, healthy cooking,
travel, music and film. They share there home with their teenage daughter and
lovable dog Honey.
Laura
and Carlos' home is a large Victorian style house nestled under mature trees.
Unlike other Homestay homes that have two guest bedrooms, Laura invites two
separate traveling parties to her home at the same time. The accommodations are
very attractive, full of interesting detail, designed for comfort, and always
clean. One room has a full size bed while the other has a queen size bed. Guests
share a semi private bath. Available for your comfort and use is a common room
with TV, VCR, telephone, and a fully equipped kitchen that you may use to make
simple meals. You have your choice of three lovely porches to relax on. They
have cushioned chairs overlooking gardens and trees for your pleasure.
An extended continental breakfast is included with an emphasis on healthy,
organic, vegetarian foods. A quiet environment is observed.
Laura and Carlos' Brooklyn home is conveniently located just 30 minutes
outside of Manhattan. Their
historic, middle class neighborhood of one and two family homes is peaceful and
friendly. It is a welcoming retreat after a day of exploring the Big Apple. The
house is just three short blocks from the train that will take you directly into
Manhattan. Ample street parking is available.
