Susan and Chalo's House The home of Susan and Chalo is located on a quiet tree lined street in the West Midwood section of Brooklyn. The house, built in the early 1900's, is a 3 story frame home located on one of several cul-de-sacs in the neighborhood offering exceptional serenity as well as ample parking. It is located only two blocks from shopping including supermarkets, a post office  and a large pharmacy. Their home is only 3 blocks from the subway and a 30 minute train ride to downtown Manhattan or a 15 minute train ride to the Beach. Susan and Chalo have been living in their Brooklyn home for the past 11 years. Chalo is a practicing Podiatrist and Susan is a Nurse and Marketing Director for a Children's Hospital. They have two teenage children but only one living at home since their daughter is beginning college at the University of Michigan. Their son Ariel is 15 years old and on the Football team at Stuyvesant High School. Their home is an active one with frequent visitors from neighborhood friends and relatives. They speak a variety of languages with English being the language of daily household use. Chalo is originally from Paraguay, South America and therefore speaks fluent Spanish but is also fluent in Hebrew and can communicate well in Italian, Portuguese and Yiddish. 

Visitors will enjoy a newly renovated basement apartment with the option of either entering through the front door or using a separate private entrance. The guest space is very bright and roomy with large glass block windows, stained glass and a large private bathroom. Adjacent to the bedroom is a separate sitting area with a TV and telephone for local calls as well as a pull out bed if needed for children. This very large space also houses a cherished ping pong table available for guest use or to challenge the host and their friends who enjoy occasional ping pong tournaments when either guests are not in or want to play. The bathroom, also newly renovated, has a large glass block walled shower and a washer and dryer available for guest use. The Bedroom has a walk-in closet and there is either a twin bed or double-bed available depending on need. The entire area stay cool all year with separate heating units available for guests to set for their comfort and extra blankets available as needed.

Breakfasts are set out in the morning before Susan leaves for work at 7am. Fresh coffee, an assortment of teas, fruit, rolls, cereal, cheese and jams is available from 7am and until guests finish breakfast. A welcome dinner is available and can be served privately in the large formal dining room, in the backyard garden, or with the family in the spacious sky lit kitchen off the garden. Special dietary arrangements such as vegetarian meals etc. can be accommodated by emailing prior to arrival. Their home has a backyard garden available for guests to sit and enjoy the seasonal blooms and soft breezes in order to prepare themselves for another round of exploring our endlessly exciting city.
